HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Half:

Denver opened the game on a 13-2 run, making each of its first three attempts from beyond the arc. Jeremiah Burke and Carson Johnson scored five points apiece in the first segment, and Logan Kinsey opened the scoring with a triple.

The Cougars responded with a 12-2 run in the next 4:10 to trim the Denver lead to 15-14 at the under-12 media.

Denver found success in the paint that included a pair of inside finishes from Shaun Wysocki to stretch the lead to four at the under-8 media.

A step-back from Burke and a driving jam by Wysocki stretched Denver's lead out to 28-20 with 6:07 to go in the frame before another 5-0 CCU run cut the Denver lead back to three.

Kinsey took advantage of a flagrant foul to produce a five-point offensive possession by himself to get the Denver lead back out to 35-25 with 4:15 to go in the first half. The Denver senior continued to be a focal point of the Denver offense to key a 18-4 run to end the half, taking Denver's advantage to 46-29 heading into the locker room. Kinsey led all scorers with 15 in the first half.

Second Half:
Denver opened the half on a 12-5 run to continue to build on its lead, stretching the advantage to 58-34 at the under-16.

The Pioneers extended the advantage in the second segment, pushing their lead to 67-39. Wysocki had five points in the four-minute stretch to get into double figures for the first time as a Pioneer.
