DENVER – The Denver Pioneers hockey team is ranked No. 6 nationally in both the USCHO.com and USA Hockey/The Rink Live polls that were both released on Monday.

The Pioneers have been No. 6 in the USCHO.com poll for four straight weeks and returned to the sixth position in the USA Hockey list after being at No. 7 last Monday.

Denver swept its weekend series at Miami over the weekend, winning 5-1 on Friday and 5-2 on Saturday.

Boston College returned as the top-ranked team in the country after former-No. 1 Michigan State tied and lost at home to Penn State. Minnesota moved up to No. 2 in each poll, followed by MSU at No. 3, the NCHC's Western Michigan at No. 4 and Maine at No. 5.

Denver is presently at No. 9 in the Pairwise computer rankings that determine the NCAA Tournament field.

The NCHC has the second-most teams ranked in the USCHO.com poll with five and has four teams in the USA Hockey/The Rink Live list.  After Western Michigan at No. 4/4 and DU at No. 6/6 is Arizona State at No. 12/13, North Dakota at No. 18/18 and Colorado College at No. 20/RV.  Omaha also received votes in each poll.
