Moritz Wins Women’s Slalom Nor-Am Cup Season Championship

Denver skiing sophomore also finished in the top 10 in all six races at the Nor-Am Cup Finals

BURKE, Vt./CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – Sophomore Liv Moritz of the Denver Pioneers ski team claimed the overall FIS North American Cup championship in women's slalom with a pair of top-10 finishes at the 2025 Nor-Am Cup Finals in New England.
 
DU's Moritz secured the top spot by placing 10th and second in the final two slalom events of the year at Burke Mountain Resort in Vermont. The women's slalom and giant slalom races were held at Burke Mountain. while the men's slalom and GS as well and men's and women's downhill and super G took place at Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine.
 
Moritz garnered 318 points in Nor-Am slalom events, and she finished third in the overall women's Nor-Am Cup with 738 points, trailing only fellow U.S. Ski Team member Elizabeth Bocock and Annika Hunt, the younger sister of DU's Mia Hunt.
 
Hunt had a solid showing in slalom throughout the Nor-Am Cup calendar by coming in eighth in final standings, while 2025 NCAA National Champion Sara Rask finished fifth in the technical discipline.
 
At the finals, Moritz also had a solid showing in giant slalom with a pair of fifth-place results and placed second and ninth in the two super G events.
 
Two other Pioneers recorded podium finishes at the finals, as graduate student Loic Chable came in third in the second men's super G and alum Tristan Lane placed third in the opening downhill.
 
Other Denver skiing alumni that joined Lane in racing during the week were Simon Fournier, Eleri Smart and former collegiate national champions Katie Hensien and Jett Seymour.
