DENVER – University of Denver men's tennis player
Raffaello Papajcik was named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the Week, the Summit League an'nounced on Tuesday.
The DU junior missed nearly a month from playing in Denver's singles lineup but returned to his normal No. 2 spot in DU's matches at BYU and Utah last weekend, collecting straight-sets wins in both duals. In his first singles match back, he earned a 6-1 6-4 win against BYU's Redd Owen to help Denver to a 4-1 win against the Cougars. He followed it up with a 6-2 6-4 win against a former Summit League player in Utah's Reid Jarvis.
Papajcik is now 5-3 in dual matches this year and 14-5 overall.
Denver men's players have combined for five Summit League weekly honors so far in 2025. Senior
Daniel Sancho Arbizu has been named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the Week twice while adding two more nods as the Kwik Start Summit League Doubles Peak Team of the Week with doubles partner, freshman
Theo Coats.
Papajcik has now earned Summit League weekly recognition twice in his career.
No. 69-ranked Denver does not play this week but next returns to the court to host Idaho State on Friday, March 14.
