DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team will be the No. 1 seed when it hosts the 2025 Summit League Women's Tennis Championship beginning on Friday, April 18, at Denver Tennis Park.
Rounding out the field will be No. 2 Oral Roberts, No. 3 Omaha and No. 4 North Dakota. Denver will face No. 4 North Dakota in the first of the two women's semifinals on Friday, April 18, at approximately 3 p.m. MT. The tournament winner receives an automatic bid into the NCAA Championships field.
DU enters the tournament after winning its 11
th straight Summit League regular-season title with a perfect 6-0 record against league opponents in 2025 and is seeking its 11
th consecutive tournament crown.
Admission is free for all matches during the tournament.
TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE:
Women's Semifinal I (Denver vs. North Dakota): Friday, April 18 – 3 p.m. MT
Women's Semifinal II (Oral Roberts vs. Omaha): Friday, April 18 - 6 p.m. MT
Women's Final: Saturday, April 19 – 1 p.m. MT
LAST TIME OUT:
Friday's semifinal against North Dakota will mark the second match in a row for DU against the Fighting Hawks after Denver secured the Summit League regular-season title with a 5-2 win at UND on April 12. After DU captured the doubles point, North Dakota drew even after a win by walkover at No. 1 singles. Denver responded with three straight-sets wins at Nos. 3, 5 and 6 to clinch the dual.
DENVER'S HISTORY AGAINST THE FIELD:
Oral Roberts: Denver swept ORU, 7-0, in their regular-season meeting this year on April 4 at ORU, bring DU's record against the Golden Eagles to 13-0. Twice, they have met in the Summit League tournament, most recently in last year's semifinals with Denver finishing with a 4-0 sweep.
Omaha: DU moved to 14-0 against Omaha with a 6-1 win on March 2 in their 2025 regular-season meeting. They have faced each other three times before in the Summit League tournament with Denver posting a 4-0 sweep over UND in the 2023 semifinals.
North Dakota: Denver's 5-2 win over UND in the regular-season finale moved the Pioneers to 7-0 against the Fighting Hawks. The teams have only met once previously in the Summit League tournament, doing so in the 2023 title match with DU earning a 4-0 sweep.
