DENVER – University of Denver skiing has three current and former student-athletes that have been nominated to the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Alpine squad for the upcoming 2025-26 winter season.
Sophomore
Liv Moritz has been selected to the Women's Alpine C Team while Pioneer alums
Katie Hensien is on the Women's Alpine A Team and
Jett Seymour is on the Men's Alpine B Team. The nominated athletes qualified based on
published selection criteria, and the full team will officially be named in September.
Moritz redshirted during Denver's 2025 collegiate season after recording four top 10 results, her first career victory and a first-team All-American award as a freshman in 2024. The Vail, Colorado, native made her FIS Alpine World Cup debut in giant slalom in Kronplatz, Italy, on Jan. 21 and also raced on the top circuit in both slalom and GS in Sestriere, Italy, on Feb. 21-23. Moritz also took part in four Europa Cup races and helped USA to the bronze medal in the team parallel slalom at the FIS Junior World Championships. On the 2025 Nor-Am Cup circuit, Moritz had 12 top-10 finishes across slalom, giant slalom and super G, earned five total podiums and won the slalom event in Norquay, Alberta, Canada, on Jan. 30.
Hensien, the 2022 NCAA National Champion in women's slalom, returned to the World Cup stage after missing the 2024 campaign with an injury. She opened last year with a career-best fourth-place finish in GS in Soelden, Austria, on Oct. 26 and went on to produce seven top-30 results on the World Cup, including two in the top 15. From Park City, Utah, she represented the United States at the 2025 FIS World Championships in Saalbach, Austria, placing 10th with the Americans in the team combined and 22nd individually in GS. She wrapped up her season with a pair of top-five results at the U.S. National Championship in Vail, coming in fourth in giant slalom and second in slalom on March 31-April 1.
Seymour, the 2019 NCAA Champion in men's slalom, had four top-30 finishes in World Cup races this past winter, including coming in 13th in slalom at Alta Badia, Italy, on Dec. 23. The Steamboat Springs, Colorado, native also represented the U.S. at the World Championship, placing 15th in the team combined and 21st individually in slalom on Feb. 12-16. Seymour wrapped up his campaign with a fourth-place result in men's slalom at the U.S. Alpine National Championships on April 1.
This upcoming season is an Olympic year, with the alpine events of the 2026 Winter Games set to held in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, in February. The FIS Alpine World Cup season begins in October.
