BRISTOL, Conn. – University of Denver senior defender Jimmy Freehill was taken 25th overall by Waterdogs Lacrosse Club (Round 4, Pick 1) in the 2025 Premiere Lacrosse League (PLL) Draft on Tuesday.
 
Freehill was a 2025 unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team selection, earning the third all-conference award in his career this season. The Denver captain played and started in all 14 games for the Pios this season, drawing the opponents top attackman assignment throughout the season. Freehill forced 16 turnovers and picked up 27 ground balls for the Pios defense in 2025. The Newton, Massachusetts, native finished his Denver career with 92 ground balls and 48 caused turnovers in 61 career games.
 
The PLL will return to Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium for the fourth-consecutive season when the pros make their way to the Mile High City August 1-2. BUY TICKETS HERE
