DENVER - The University of Denver men's basketball program has signed Macalester College transfer
Kaden Holdbrook to its 2025-26 roster, first-year head coach
Tim Bergstraser announced on Wednesday.
"We are extremely excited to complete our roster and bring in a guy like Kaden," Bergstraser said. "He's a high character individual and an every day guy as well as a tremendous shooter with an incredible work ethic! Kaden is a perfect example of the kind of student athlete we want to bring into our program."
Holdbrook was the leading scorer at Macalester, averaging 15.8 points per game as a sophomore, starting in 15 games before missing the remainder of the season due to injury. The Palo Alto, California native filled the stat sheet, averaging 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 30.6 minutes per contest.
In his freshman campaign in 2022-23, Holdbrook started 11 of the 25 games he appeared in, averaging 2.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 9.1 points in 24 minutes per game.
Holdbrook was a three time all-conference selection in high school as well as team MVP.
The new Denver junior is the 11th new Pioneer to join the roster since Bergstraser took over as head coach in April, joining an MSUM quartet of transfers in Corleone Dandridge, Shaun Wysocki, Carson Johnson and Logan Kinsey, South Plains College and Triton College transfer Didier Maleng, Missouri Western State transfer Zane Nelson, former Western Illinois and Kent State guard Julius Rollins, Pima CC center Gabe Oldham and Jeremiah Burke and Bucknell forward Ian Motta who signed earlier this offseason.Â
