DU will kick off the season with its traditional appearance at the Bedford Cup in the Mountains, hosted by the Air Force Academy. Denver is also set to appear at Montana State's Bobcat Invite in November, as well as the LMU Invite for the third year in a row in November as well.
Denver will host its annual Colorado Cup tournament at Denver Tennis Park on October 31 – November 2. Joining the Pioneers will be players from Air Force, Gonzaga and Grand Canyon, and the tournament will follow a hidden dual format.
The Pioneers will seek berths into the NCAA Division I Singles and Doubles Championships during the fall campaign, starting with the 2025 ITA Mountain Regional Championships, hosted by UNLV, on October 15-20. The two singles finalists and the doubles championship team will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships, which will be held November 18-23 as the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
The ITA also provides NCAA singles and doubles qualification opportunities throughout the fall and will announce competitors at each tournament later in the fall. Among the NCAA qualifying tournaments are the ITA All-American Championships (September 20-28 in Tulsa, Oklahoma) and ITA Conference Masters Championships (November 6-9 in San Diego, California).
Denver's spring dual schedule will be announced in the late fall.
A year ago, two Pioneers advanced to the 2024 NCAA Division I Singles Championships in then-senior
Daniel Sancho Arbizu and then-junior
Raffaello Papajcik. Papajcik became the first Denver men's singles player to win a match at the NCAA Singles Championships after a come-from-behind, three-set upset of No. 29 Jonah Braswell (Texas) in the round of 64.
Papajcik returns in 2025-26 for his senior season and will help lead the Denver men's tennis team. Last season, DU successfully defended its Summit League title and advanced to the NCAA National Championships for the 10
th time in program history. The Pioneers finished ranked No. 50 nationally – their highest ranking of the year – following an 18-7 overall record and a perfect 5-0 in Summit League play.
