COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The University of Denver volleyball team swept (25-21, 25-22, 25-23) the Air Force Falcons on Thursday night in Colorado Springs.
Alicia Thibodeau and
Ava Reynolds paced the Pioneer offense with 11 and 12 kills respectively. On the defensive end,
Madison Winkler made a career-high 18 digs and
Kate Perryman added six blocks.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED:
SET ONE
After falling behind 11-14, the Pioneers mounted a late 5-0 run to complete a 25-21 set one victory.
SET TWO
Denver found itself in an early deficit, down 4-11 to start the second stanza. DU battled back late, hitting .370 to win the second set, 25-22.
SET THREE
The Pioneers and the Falcons battled back and forth throughout the third set. Denver pulled ahead late to earn the sweep with a 25-23 third stanza win.
The Pioneers return to action tomorrow afternoon against the Utah Tech Blazers.
