Denver hockey student season tickets for 2026-27 season available Saturday morning
DENVER – A limited amount of student tickets for the 2026-27 Denver hockey season will be available this weekend at Hockey Night Lights, hosted by the DU Programming Board's tradition committee.
Â
The event takes place on the Campus Green adjacent to DU's Community Commons on Friday, Oct. 9. Students must register on Crimson Connect and then check-in starting at 10 a.m. on Friday for an opportunity to receive a Golden Ticket, guaranteeing access to every home game during the regular season at no charge. Student ticket distribution begins on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 8 a.m., with members of the hockey team set to be there with a donut delivery.
Â
The University of Denver Athletics department and DU Programming Board have organized several events throughout the afternoon and evening to celebrate this hockey tradition, including lawn games and free food from Snarf's, Raising Cane's and Qdoba (while supplies last). Mid-day student pop-ups from 1-5 p.m. on the north lawn will provide free samples and promotional items to students to get them through the night while hanging out under the lights with friends.
Â
At 6 p.m., students can head to the Peter Barton Lacrosse Field to watch the DU men's lacrosse team play in-state rival Colorado College in a free fall ball exhibition.
Â
Starting at 8:30 p.m., head inside to the Ritchie Center and paint the ice at Magness Arena. The team with the best picture will receive a prize and will be featured during DU hockey's exhibition on Saturday.
Â
Additionally, music plays into the night, several activities are planned for the basketball and tennis courts and a movie will be played on the campus green.
Â
Students are encouraged to claim their spot on the campus green early with friends, prep for brisk fall-like temperatures and enjoy one of the longest-running traditions at the University of Denver in hopes of scoring a DU hockey golden ticket. Students are encouraged to bring cold-weather clothing.
Â
Denver fans will get their first look at the Pioneers on Saturday night, Oct. 10 as the team takes on U.S. Under-18 Team at 6 p.m. MT at n Area. The squad from the U.S. National Team Development Program features some of the top up-and-coming talent in the country that will go on to play college hockey, in the NHL and represent the nation at future international competitions.
