Denver Women’s Tennis Travels West for Matches at BYU, Utah

DU takes on two Big 12 Conference opponents on February 14-15

DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team (5-0, 0-0 Summit) is set for its first road trip of the 2026 dual season when it heads to the state of Utah for matches against two Big 12 Conference opponents on back-to-back days on February 14-15.

DU will first play at BYU on Saturday, February 14, at 10 a.m. MT before heading to Utah on Sunday, February 15, at 1 p.m. MT.

The matches at BYU and Utah are the first of six consecutive road tests for Denver that will keep the Pioneers on the road for a full month.

LAST TIME OUT:
Denver notched two 4-0 sweeps – its second and third of 2026 so far – in its final two matches of a season-beginning home stand on February 6-7. DU opened the weekend first with a win against Air Force, winning the doubles point before earning straight-sets wins from freshman Yunfei Cai, senior and No. 125-ranked Louise Wikander and senior Hana Bečirovič Novak to seal the win.

The next day against Colorado State, Denver again secured the first point of the day in doubles and backed it up with dominant wins from sophomore Natálie Cinková, freshman Ruby Hansen and Cai in the bottom half of the singles lineup.

After losing just three combined games in their two doubles matches, senior Zoe Adkins and Cinková collected Summit League Peak Doubles Team of the Week honors, announced on Tuesday.

SERIES HISTORY:
BYU: Denver and BYU are knotted up a 9-9 head-to-head entering Saturday's match and have split the last four results, though DU is 7-3 over the last 10 meetings. BYU earned a tight 4-3 win in Denver when the teams met last season and also notched an identical win in DU's last trip to BYU in 2020. DU won the previous two meetings at BYU (5-2 in 2018 and 4-3 in 2016).

Utah: This will be the 20th meeting between Denver and Utah with the Pioneers holding a 12-7 record. The team did not meet in 2025 but had played against one another in nine consecutive seasons prior to that. In the last two meetings, the host team earned the win: Denver, 4-0, at home in 2024 and Utah, 5-2, in 2023.

Up Next:
The University of Denver women's tennis team heads to another Big 12 Conference school for the Red/Blue Invite, hosted by Arizona, on February 20-21. DU is scheduled to play against Arizona, Oregon and Arizona State during the weekend.
