Denver Punches Five Tickets to Friday Night’s A-Finals at NICs

The Pioneers youth movement continues to shine as four underclassmen earn spots in Friday night’s finals session
DENVER – The University of Denver men's and women's swimming programs reached the halfway point of the 2026 CSCAA National Invitational Championships on Friday morning at the FAST Facility in Ocala, Florida.
Hamish McLellan led all Denver qualifiers taking third in Friday morning's 100 fly prelims in 47.60. Freshman Samantha Synsvoll grabbed fourth in the women's 200 free prelims (1:48.61) and Nico Morton finished fourth in the men's 400 IM prelims (4:19.26).
Junior Sabrina Rachjaibun earned the seventh qualifying spot in Friday night's women's 400 IM A-Final with her time of 4:19.26. Coming off last night's first win at the championships in eight years, Julia Saxman earned a spot in Friday night's A-Final of the women's 100 free with a time of 53.94.
Freshman Pierce Bickerton will swim in the men's 200 free B-Final after taking 11th Friday morning in a time of 1:38.02.
