Denver will head to NCAA Regionals as the Big 12 Conference runner-up after placing second overall and behind only No. 12 Utah on Saturday, March 21. DU matched its fifth highest score of the season in the meet and recorded some of its best performances of the year on beam and floor while also registering the highest bars score of any of the six teams across both sessions of the competition.
This will be the 27
th consecutive NCAA Regionals appearance for Denver. Six times, the team has advanced to NCAA Nationals, most recently doing so in 2023 at the NCAA Regional champion. In 2025, Denver entered NCAA Regionals as an unseeded team and tied for first with then-No. 4 Utah for first in the second round while also upsetting then-No. 13 Stanford to advance to the NCAA Regional Final.
In that regional final meet, DU was just three tenths away from even more stunning upsets, nearly booking a spot at the NCAA National Championships but ultimately placing third overall in the region, behind only Utah and then-No. 5 UCLA – two of the four teams that advanced all the way to the NCAA Championship Final. Denver also upset then-No. 10 Minnesota in the 2025 NCAA Regional Final.
Three Denver gymnasts did advance to the 2025 NCAA National Championships – the most individual qualifiers of any school in the country – with
Madison Ulrich in the all-round,
Rosie Casali on vault and
Rylie Mundell on bars. Together, the trio hit all six of their combined routines in Fort Worth and collected three WCGA Postseason All-America honors.
Denver will be seeking its seventh team trip to NCAA Nationals. DU has also had at least one gymnast qualify for the NCAA National Championships in 24 of the last 25 seasons (excluding canceled 2020 postseason).
