Denver Women’s Tennis Hosts South Dakota for League Home Opener

DU begins Summit League home slate on Saturday afternoon at Denver Tennis Park

DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team (7-5, 1-0 Summit) hosts its 2026 Summit League home opener against South Dakota on Saturday, March 7, art 1 p.m. MT at Denver Tennis Park.

Admission and parking are free at Denver Tennis Park for matches all season long.

LAST TIME OUT:
Denver finished a seven-match road trip with two duals in the state of Minnesota, beginning with its first Summit League match of the season at St. Thomas on February 28, earning a 5-2 win. After shuffling its doubles lineup, DU won the point before moving on to singles and going on to collect victories at Nos. 1, 3, 4 and 6 singles – highlighted by a double bagel from freshman Yunfei Cai at No. 6 singles.

DU finished up the weekend at Minnesota but ended with a 5-2 loss. The doubles point went to the home team, but senior Louise Wikander put DU on the board with a straight-sets win. Denver also earned a win from Cai once more, this time in a come-from-behind win with two 6-2 sets to finish it off.

After teaming up for the first time in dual match play, Cai and senior Marley Lambert were named the Summit League Doubles Peak Team of the Week. The duo won both of their matches at the No. 1 spot on the weekend.

South Dakota: This will be the 20th meeting between Denver and South Dakota with DU holding a 19-0 record so far. In the teams' 2025 meeting, DU came away with a 4-3 win on the road, clinching it at 4-1. USD's last trip to Denver was on March 8, 2024, in a 6-1 DU win.
