No. 61 Denver Women’s Tennis Heads to Tulsa, Kansas City

DU to close non-conference schedule at Tulsa on Friday, resume Summit League play at UMKC on Saturday

DENVER – The No. 61-ranked University of Denver women's tennis team (10-6, 2-0 Summit) will finish off a four-match road trip with visits to Tulsa and Kansas City on April 3-4.

Denver begins the weekend at Tulsa for its non-conference finale on Friday, April 3, at 1 p.m. CT/12 p.m. MT before resuming Summit League play with a trip to Kansas City on Saturday, April 4, at 12 p.m. CT/11 a.m. MT.

LAST TIME OUT:
DU split results with two matches in Tennessee, starting with a 4-2 win at host Memphis on March 25. After dropping the doubles point, Denver responded with wins in four of five singles matches that reached a conclusion, led by straight-sets wins from senior Marley Lambert, freshman Yunfei Cai and senior Zoe Adkins, and capped by a clinching win in two sets from sophomore Natálie Cinková.

In a neutral-site match two days later, DU came up short to Xavier, 4-2. Lambert won her fourth consecutive singles match to level the scoreboard at 1-1, and fellow senior Hana Bečirovič Novak also won in straight sets, though it was Xavier able to secure the win overall.

SERIES HISTORY:
Tulsa: Denver and Tulsa have met five times previously with DU winning four of them including a 4-3 victory at Tulsa on April 5, 2024, in what was their most recent meeting. Each of the last four meetings between the teams have come in Tulsa where DU has gone 3-1.

Kansas City: DU owns a 6-0 record against Kansas City, five of which came in regular-season Summit League matches since 2021. When the teams played last season, DU earned a 7-0 sweep at home. Denver's last trip to UMKC also ended in a Denver win, this time 6-1 on April 6, 2024.
