DENVER – The No. 65-ranked University of Denver women's tennis team (13-7, 5-0 Summit) will close its 2026 regular season at Omaha on Saturday, April 18, at 11 a.m. CT/10 a.m. MT.
Both teams enter with matching 5-0 records in Summit League play. The winner of Saturday's match will finish atop the league standings and become the 2026 Summit League regular-season champion.
Saturday's match will be Denver's final regular-season dual as a member of the Summit League. DU has won the league's regular-season title in 11 consecutive seasons.
LAST TIME OUT:
Denver hosted Oral Roberts and North Dakota in its final home matches of the season, opening up with a 7-0 sweep of ORU on April 10 despite resting a couple of its singles players, moving senior
Claudia Martinez de Velasco and freshman
Ruby Hansen into the Nos. 5 and 6 slots.
The team followed it up with a 6-1 win against UND for Senior Day on April 11, winning the doubles point and adding wins in five of six singles matches – all five coming in straight sets.

Louise Wikander was named the Summit League Peak Performer of the Week. She lost just three total games in her two singles matches on the weekend, each from the No. 1 spot and both as the first singles match to wrap up in the dual.
SERIES HISTORY:
Omaha: Denver and Omaha have met 15 times previously with DU earning the win in all 15. UNO made the trip to DU for their regular-season meeting in 2025 with DU posting a 6-1 win. The two teams met a second time last season, doing so in the Summit League final, hosted by Denver, which saw DU win the championship, 4-0. Denver's last trip to Omaha was March 9, 2024, for another 6-1 win.

The University of Denver women's tennis team has mathematically secured a spot in the 2026 Summit League Women's Tennis Championship field but will await final seeding following this weekend's league matches. The Summit League Championship will be held April 24-25 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
