SARASOTA, Fla. – University of Denver sophomore distance freestyle swimmer
Finn Holdredge finished 22
nd in the 2026 USA Swimming Men's 10K Open Water National Championship on Thursday at Nathan Bedson Park.
The runner up in the mile at the 2026 Summit League Championship turned in a 10K time of 2:03:34 on Thursday to finish in the top half of the 51 swimmer field.
This year's championships continue tomorrow as Holdredge is joined by DU women's swimmers
Paige Reilly and
Genevieve Franklin in Friday's action. The women's 3K knockout event will begin at 8:30 a.m. MT, while the men's race starts at 10 a.m. MT.
The 3K knockout event consists of three rounds. The first round will be a 1500m lap in which the top-10 will advance to round two. Friday's second round is a 1000m lap and the top half of the 20-swimmer field will advance to the final round. The final round is a 500m lap.
Saturday morning, Reilly and Franklin will swim in the 5K women's event at 6:10 a.m. MT.
