DENVER – University of Denver men's tennis player
Raffaello Papajcik was named the Summit League Player of the Year and helped lead a total of six DU players to All-League Team honors for the 2026 season, the Summit League announced on Thursday.
All six Denver student-athletes who saw playing time during the 2025-26 season earned places on the All-League Team – five of which did so as automatic selections by way of having the best singles record at their respective position in Summit League play.
Player of the Year
Papajcik led the way with a perfect 5-0 record in Summit League duals, all from the No. 1 singles position. In four of those league singles matches, he won in straight sets. In 2026, he picked up four combined weekly Summit League honors including two Peak Performer of the Week nods. Since the start of the spring dual season, the senior has dropped just four matches and enters the Summit League Championship on an eight-match win streak. Overall, he holds a 20-7 singles record this season and adds 13 more wins in doubles, and he leads the team in clinching duals for DU five times.
This is Papajcik's third consecutive season landing on the All-Summit League Team.
Sophomore
Samuel Rovai lands on the All-Summit League Team for the second time through his first two NCAA seasons. After splitting time between the Nos. 3 and 4 singles spots as a freshman, Rovai moved up to consistently playing at No. 2 in 2026 while also adding six appearances in the top spot. In Summit League play, he finished with perfect 5-0 records in both singles and doubles, and like Papajcik, he won four of his five singles matches in two sets. A two-time Peak Performer of the Week and three-time Doubles Peak Team of the Week honoree, Rovai has gone 11-2 in singles in dual match play and is 20-6 overall on the year while also collecting 14 doubles wins.
Sophomore
Theo Coats makes his first career appearance on the All-Summit League Team after a breakout season that saw him join classmate Rovai in jumping up in the Denver singles lineup, moving up to the No. 3 slot after making just nine lineup appearances a season ago, most at No. 6. So far in 2026, he leads the Denver roster with a 29-6 overall singles record including 5-0 in league play and adding a 20-7 (3-0 Summit League) doubles record, most as the No. 1 spot. Four times, he has rallied from a set down to win a singles match and adds four singles-clinching points on the year. In 2026, he picked up three Summit League Doubles Peak Team of the Week awards as well.
Senior
Ryoma Mishiro finishes his career with a fourth All-Summit League Team nod, doing so in every season of his career including both while playing at Denver. Another three-time Summit League Doubles Peak Team of the Week honoree for DU, Mishiro went 4-1 in singles in league play including a perfect 3-0 from the No. 4 position. He was a perfect 5-0 in league doubles matches, all at the No. 2 spot, and is sitting on 29 combined wins between singles and doubles in 2025-26. Five times, he has helped clinch the doubles point for Denver this year, and he has seven straight-sets singles wins.
Graduate student
Connor Robb-Wilcox makes his first All-Summit League Team following a season that saw him go 5-0 and 3-0 in league duals in singles and doubles, respectively. Four times, he picked up weekly recognition from the Summit League in 2026 including as the Peak Performer of the Week for the first time in his career. Playing with doubles partner Coats, he clinched seven doubles points for Denver on his way to a team-best 20-6 doubles record. He also owns a 23-8 overall singles record, winning nine matches in straight sets across the Nos. 4 and 5 singles courts.
Freshman
Aaron Beduhn earned All-League Team honors for his first collegiate season, going 4-1 in singles and 3-0 in doubles in league duals this season. Overall, he holds a 23-14 singles record on the year, nearly half of the wins coming during the spring dual campaign. In doubles, he has also hit the 20-win mark with 11 coming in dual matches, and twice he was named part of a Summit League Doubles Peak Team of the Week. He owns eight straight-sets singles victories on the season and ended the regular season with six singles wins in his last seven matches.
Denver has now had six All-Summit League honorees in consecutive season and once again leads the league in total honors, double the next closest teams (Illinois State and Omaha).
