DENVER – The No. 66-ranked University of Denver women's tennis team will travel to No. 16-seeded Arizona State for the first round of the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship, the NCAA announced on Monday.
Denver, the region's No. 4 seed, will take on the host team in Arizona State with their NCAA First Round match scheduled for Friday, May 1, at 1 p.m. MST/2 p.m. MDT.
Additional information about the Tempe Regional hosted by Arizona State will be announced in the coming days.
Friday's first-round meeting will be a rematch after Denver and Arizona State met during the regular season as part of a tournament hosted by the University of Arizona on February 21. ASU, ranked No. 11 nationally at the time, earned a 4-0 win over DU in that match.
Denver earned an automatic selection into the NCAA Tennis Championship after winning its 12
th consecutive Summit League championship. DU, which will become a member of the West Coast Conference on July 1, 2026, finished its tenure in the Summit League with a perfect 71-0 record in league matches and 24-0 in the conference tournament.
This will be DU's 12
th straight NCAA tournament appearance and the 15
th in program history. In 2025, Denver drew a first-round meeting with No. 4-seeded Oklahoma and fell, 0-4, to the host team.
