DENVER – University of Denver men's basketball rising junior guard Shaun Wysocki has announced that he will stay a Pioneer and return to Denver's roster next season for second-year head coach Tim Bergstraser.
"Being back here at DU is a blessing," Wysocki said. "Hearing the buzz around next year and the people excited to see what we will accomplish has motivated us to continue to put in the work to be successful in the West Coast Conference. I am already looking forward to next year and what this program will continue to become. When on the court or in the weightroom, my teammates and I have already been putting in the work necessary, as our goals remain the same. I'm looking forward to another great year here at Denver!"
Wysocki played in 30 of Denver's 32 games this past season, averaging 7.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 19.5 minutes off the bench for Bergstraser's men. The sophomore's season was highlighted by a 32 point and six rebound night that included 10-of-11 shooting and 9-of-11 from the stripe in Denver's win on December11. Wysocki was the first of three Pioneers to record a 30+ point game this season, making the Denver program one of 22 teams in the country to have that many different 30+ point scorers in a game in the regular season.
The Denver guard finished in double figures in nine games in 2025-26 to bring his career total to 21. Wysocki finished in with 10+ in Denver wins against Kansas City, at North Dakota and in Denver's final two games of the calendar against Oral Roberts and North Dakota. The Rochester, Minnesota, native shot 59.4% from the field on 82-of-138 shooting, good for second on the team.
Prior to his debut season in Denver, Wysocki played for Bergstaser at Minnesota State Moorhead in 2024-25. Wysocki made 24 starts and played in all 34 games in his freshman campaign, averaging 7.6 points and 3.9 boards per contest. The 6-7 sharp shooter finished 50.8 percent from the field in his rookie campaign.
Wysocki joins two-year teammate and Summit League Player of the Year Carson Johnson as the two Pioneers that have announced they are returning to the roster next season (READ JOHNSON'S RELEASE).
