SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Junior Jet Hernandez was named the 2026 Summit League Golfer of the Year, the League announced on Wednesday. 

Hernandez is the first Pioneer golfer to earn the award since Jackson Solem was named Golfer of the Year in both 2021 and 2022. 

The Mutinlupa, Phillipines native finished 54-holes of the Summit League tournament in a dour-way tie for first place at four-under, before falling to eventual champion Gustav Liljeberg in the playoff. He led the Pioneers to the best tournament finish under third-year head coach Gary Bissell. 

Hernandez led the Pioneers to three, top-three tournament finishes and finished in a season-best fourth place finish at 11-under en-route to a third place team finish at the Loyola Intercollegiate. The junior ranked second in the Summit League with a 71.9 scoring average and led the Pioneers to the lowest team average in the League at 288.
