Denver Women’s Tennis Claims No. 4 ITA Regional Ranking

Wikander grabs top-10 singles ranking in the ITA Mountain Regional

DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team (16-8, 6-0 Summit) is ranked No. 4 in the in the 2025-26 ITA Regional Rankings, which were released on Wednesday.
 
Senior Louise Wikander also earned a spot in the ITA Mountain Regional singles rankings at No. 8.
 
In the ITA Mid-Major Rankings, which were also released on Wednesday, Denver comes in at No. 18.
 
This is the fifth time in the last six years that Denver has earned a spot in the top five of the ITA Mountain Regional team rankings.
 
Denver won its 12th consecutive Summit League championship on its way to its 15th overall team appearance in the NCAA tournament. DU finished the year ranked No. 69 nationally and peaked as high as No. 49 nationally during the season.
 
Against its fellow ITA Mountain Regional Teams, Denver was 3-2 in 2026.
 
Wikander makes her third consecutive appearance in the ITA Mountain Regional singles rankings, jumping seven spots from a year ago to the No. 8 spot for 2025-26. After taking over the No. 1 singles spot for Denver, she went 14-6 in the dual season and finished with a 25-10 overall singles record on the year. The Summit League Player of the Year achieved a career-high national singles ranking of No. 79 during the year after qualifying for the NCAA Division I Singles Championship in the fall following a win in the ITA Mountain Regional Championship singles final.
 
Denver has now had at least one player in the ITA regional singles rankings in eight consecutive seasons in which the rankings have been issued. Wikander is the fifth Denver woman to achieve a regional singles ranking for at least three years in her career.
 
The ITA Division I Regional Rankings recognize the top 10 teams, the top 20 singles players and the top 10 doubles teams for each of its 12 regionals. The ITA Mid-Major Rankings recognize the top 25 teams from non-Power-Four conferences.
 
Denver is joined by Air Force, Boise State, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Idaho, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, UNLV, Utah, Utah State, UTEP, Weber State and Wyoming in the ITA Mountain Regional.
