To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained at least a 3.75 grade-point average in each academic semester or quarter and appeared in 40 percent of the team's games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and backup goaltenders.
Pohlkamp earned his first career national scholar award and was one of four players in the nation to be named both an athletic and academic All-American, joining fellow 2025-26 first-team members Trey Augustine of Michigan State, Brandon Holt of Maine and Michael Hrabel of Massachusetts.
Anderson was named an All-American Scholar in each of his four seasons at Denver, while Buckberger was recognized on the list for the third straight year and Pitner picked up accolades in back-to-back campaigns. Caswell, Jamieson, Milburn, Miller and Varkonyi joined Pohlkamp as first-time winners.
Anderson, Buckberger, Pitner and Pohlkamp were also named to the NCHC Academic Honor Roll and were recognized as NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athletes earlier in the 2025-26 season. Freshmen Caswell, Jamieson, Milburn, Miller and Varkonyi are expected to join their teammates on that list when the league announces the newcomer additions later this month.
Additionally, Anderson and Buckberger were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, and both are finalists for Academic All-American honors from the CSC as well. Other academic honors from this past year's team include Anderson being named the recipient of the NCHC Senior Scholar-Athlete Award, Buckberger being selected to the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team and Jamieson, Miller and Varkonyi each being recognized as DU Athletics' Scholar-Athletes of the Year for having the highest grade-point average in the school's freshman class.
