DENVER – University of Denver men's soccer incoming freshman Ethan Orchard has been named the Colorado Boys Soccer Gatorade Player of the Year, the organization announced.
The new Denver midfielder had 19 goals and eight assists in an 18-1-1 2025 high school season where he led Ralston Valley to the state title game. Orchard netted an equalizer in the final minute of the state semifinal and went on to convert his penalty kick to advance the Mustangs to the championship tilt. The Real Colorado product was named the Colorado 5A State Player of the Year, and the Jeffco MVP and Offensive Player of the Year. Orchard was named a 2025 United Soccer Coaches All-American.
In his club career, Orchard was a two-time honoree of MLS Next Team of the Season at both the U-16 and U-17 levels. At the U-17 level, Orchard scored 34 goals to lead his team to the MLS Next Cup Finals in 2024 and the semifinals in 2025.
Orchard and the Pioneers will begin life in the West Coast Conference this fall, starting with a non-conference home opener against Cal Poly on August 20 at 7 p.m. MT.
