Denver Skiing Adds Five to 2027 Nordic Squad

Elling Broberg, Claire Chimileski, Mina Moland, Finn Redman and Sander Teisbekk join the Pioneers
DENVER – University of Denver skiing announced today that the team has added five newcomers to its Nordic squad for the upcoming 2027 winter season.
"This incoming class feels like a dream wish list brought to life, blending raw, untapped potential with proven, battle-tested talent," said Denver Nordic Skiing Head Coach Eliska Albrigtsen. "Beyond their abilities on the trails, every single one of them is a genuinely fantastic human who will seamlessly enrich our team culture. Their work ethic and character make it impossible not to be thrilled about the journey ahead. I simply cannot wait to hit the ground running with this group—Strive for 25."
The new Pioneer Nordic skiers are graduate student Sander Teisbekk (Røyken, Norway) and first-year student-athletes Elling Broberg (Lillehammer, Norway), Claire Chimileski (Vail, Colorado), Mina Moland (Andebu, Norway) and Finn Redman (Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada).

Before Denver: Previously raced for Team Aker Dæhlie and Team Olympiaparken in Norway … Finished 12th overall in both classic sprints in 2026 and freestyle sprints in 2025 at the Norwegian National Championships, including placing fourth among U23 skiers in freestyle race in 2025 … Registered a seventh-place result in classic sprints at the 2025 FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Schilpario, Italy … Qualified for the Junior World Championships after finishing third and second in the official Norwegian selection races … Won gold in the team relay at the 2025 Norwegian National Championship … Was 10th in freestyle sprints at the 2025 Norway National Junior Championships … Nordic junior champion in classic sprints during race in Jyvaskyla, Finland, on Feb. 17, 2023 … Won bronze at the 2023 Norwegian Junior Championships in classic sprints … 2022 Norwegian junior champion in classical sprints … Placed 11th in the 10K classic and 13th in the 10K freestyle at the Norwegian Junior Championships in 2022.

Before Denver: Previously competed for Ski and Snowboard Club Vail … Placed eighth in the 15K classic, ninth in the classic sprint and 15th in 7.5K freestyle at the 2026 U.S. Cross Country National Junior Championships in Cable, Wisconsin … Recorded a 12th-place finish in the 7.5K classic at the 2025 U.S. Junior Championship at Soldier Hollow, Utah … Raced at the 2024, 2025 and 2026 U.S. Cross Country National Championships.
Personal: Mother competed in crew at Boston University … Graduated from Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy in 2026 and was named to the school's honor roll … Intends to major in marketing at DU … Enjoys all types of music … Favorite movie is Wonder Woman … Volunteered internationally with the National Leadership Council for E3 Schools in Kenya.

Why DU: I chose the University of Denver because it gives me the opportunity to pursue both of my passions at a high level: cross country skiing and academics. As a recruited student-athlete, I was looking for a program where I could continue developing as a skier while earning a strong business degree. The Daniels College of Business and the success of the DU Nordic ski team make it the perfect place for me. Another important reason is that my sister is also a student-athlete at DU. Seeing her positive experience, both academically and athletically, gave me confidence that Denver is the right fit. I am excited to challenge myself, contribute to the team and continue growing as both a student and an athlete."
Finn Redman | Men's Nordic | Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada
5-11 | Kelowna Secondary School | Telemark Nordic
Before Denver: Previously competed for Telemark Nordic … Won the 2026 Canadian National Championships in both classic sprints and team freestyle sprints … Won four Canadian Junior National Championships: freestyle sprints in 2024, 20K classic and team sprints in 2023, and team sprints in 2022 … Came in second in both the 10K classic and 20K freestyle at the 2026 Canadian National Junior Championship … Competed at the 2024, 2025 and 2026 FIS Nordic Junior World Championships, including pacing ninth in the freestyle sprint final on March 2, 2026 in Lillehammer, Norway … Placed first in sprint qualifying that year to become the first Canadian in history to post the fastest time during the qualifying round at the Junior Worlds … Was the top junior finisher and placed 14th overall in the senior freestyle sprints at the 2026 U.S. Cross Country National Championships (14th overall).

Second, after hearing stories from friends who attended the school, it sounded like an absolute blast, and I knew I wanted to spend the next four years at DU."

Before Denver: Has previously competed for the Lillehammer Skiklubb since 2023 and was a member of Team Elon Innlandet in 2025-26 … Came in 28th in the 20K Skiathlon during the 2026 Norwegian National Championships … Placed second in the team relay with Lillehammer Skiklubb at the 2026 national championships … Was 25th in the 40K freestyle Popular Cross Country event in Mosetertoppen, Norway, on April 12, 2025 … Won Norway's National Junior Championship in the 10K freestyle in 2019.
Personal: Has an older brother and a younger sister … Intends to earn his master's degree in applied quantitative finance from DU … Graduated high school from NTG Geilo in 2021 and earned his bachelor's degree in economics and business administration from the University of Inland Norway in Lillehammer in 2026 … Likes to listen to Norwegian and Swedish music … Favorite movie is The Notebook … Used to play soccer as a kid … Hobbies include golf and playing soccer with friends.
Why DU: "I first heard about the University of Denver when I was a kid because I knew the Kirkeng brothers (Ole Marius and Andreas), who attended the university. Later, Sondre Østervold told me about the opportunity to pursue a graduate program at Denver, which made me even more interested in studying there."
