Denver Women’s Tennis Unveils 2026 Fall Schedule

DU to host annual Colorado Cup, make trips to at least three tournaments
DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team has announced its tournament schedule for the upcoming 2026 fall season, head coach Agustín Moreno announced on Tuesday.
2026 DENVER WOMEN'S TENNIS FALL SCHEDULE
September 25-27 – at Nebraska Invite
October 13-17 – at ITA Mountain Regional Championships (hosted by BYU)
October 23-25 – Colorado Cup (hosted at Denver Tennis Park)
November 6-8 – at Aztec Fall Invitational (hosted by San Diego State)

Denver begins its season with the first of two invitationals hosted at campus sites, traveling to Nebraska for a three-day tournament in Lincoln, Nebraska. The tournament historically features a round of doubles and singles each day.
This year's ITA Mountain Regional Championships will be hosted by BYU in the second week of October where automatic berths to the 2026 NCAA Division I National Championships in singles and doubles are on the line. The two singles finalists and the winning doubles team will automatically qualify for NCAAs. Last year, then-senior Louise Wikander won the regional singles title to book her spot in the NCAA National singles field, marking her first career appearance at the tournament.
DU will return home at the end of October to host its annual tournament, the Colorado Cup, at Denver Tennis Park on October 23-25. Scheduled to join Denver are Colorado and New Mexico with possible additional teams to be announced at a later date. Teams will square off in a modified hidden-dual format across the three days of play.
Denver's final fall schedule takes the Pioneers to San Diego State for the Aztec Fall Invitational. A tournament format is not yet available but historically has featured a round of doubles followed by a round of singles play.
Additionally, the Pioneers will await selections for ITA tournament that serve as qualification events for the NCAA National Championships including the ITA Sectional Championships at multiple campus sites and the ITA Conference Masters Championships at Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia, both on November 5-8.
The 2026 NCAA Division I Singles & Doubles Championships are scheduled for November 17-22 and will be held at Dan Macgill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia.
Denver's spring dual schedule will be announced in the late fall.
Denver is entering its first year as a member of the West Coast Conference after making the official transition to its new conference home on July 1. In DU's final season as a member of the Summit League in 2025-26, Denver extended its unbeaten run in regular-season duals to finish 71-0 all-time on its way to winning its 12th consecutive tournament title. DU made its 15th team appearance at the NCAA National Championships to end its season.
Denver graduated a class of five seniors but returns four student-athletes to the roster, led by sophomores Yunfei Cai – the 2026 Summit League Newcomer of the Year – and Ruby Hansen – who won all four of her dual singles matches. Juniors Natali Jaiani and Remy Nguyen also return to Denver after making their collegiate debuts a season ago.
In total, four newcomers also join the Pioneers, beginning with freshmen Caroline Daugherty – a three-time Colorado high school state singles champion – and Francesca Tye – a London native with multiple ITF junior finals appearances to her name.
Two upperclassmen transfers will make their Denver debuts this year as well. Fifth year Paulina Jurkowska began her career at Delaware, playing for three seasons and winning a combined 52 singles matches. Junior Sofia Mavor stays in the state of Colorado after transferring from Air Force where she achieved national doubles rankings in both of her seasons for the Falcons.
In additional to beginning its time as a member of the West Coast Conference, Denver enters a new era under head coach Agustín Moreno, who was named to the role on August 11. Moreno has spent more than two decades as a coach, most recently serving at new WCC-foe LMU where he finished with a 120-83 record. He also has coaching experience at the highest levels of the sport internationally including with the Mexican Fed Cup/Billie Jean King Cup and Olympic teams.
Moreno takes over for former DU head coach Paul Wardlaw, who retired from collegiate coaching while also accepting a new role with the US Tennis Association.
