Denver Hockey Unveils 2026 National Championship Ring

Pioneers extended their NCAA record by winning the program’s 11th national title in April, their third championship in a five-year span
DENVER – The University of Denver hockey program unveiled on Thursday the team's 2026 championship ring, which features plenty of Las Vegas flair to commemorate the Pioneers extending their NCAA record with their 11th national title this past April in the city.
The national championship rings were presented to players, coaches and staff in a private ceremony on Thursday evening near campus.
The dome of the Pioneers' championship band features the arch "Denver" wordmark on top of the coveted NCAA trophy, with the wording "National C11ampions" surrounding the imagery. Eleven stones glisten on the top of the NCAA trophy, representing each of the program's record 11 titles, with the largest symbolizing its victory in the title game against Wisconsin on April 11 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Another 11 red stones surround the outside of the dome.
The ring is a "flip top" that reveals additional details of the team's title run with several reversible elements. The custom engineered top opens to the dual-sided centerpiece that sits behind the trophy on the top of the dome. The individual can choose either a red stone or shimmering white stones to serve as the backdrop to the top of the ring. Inside the ring features the iconic "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign, accompanied by the scores of DU's NCAA Tournament games: 5-0 Cornell, 6-2 WMU (Western Michigan), 4-3 Michigan, 2-1 Wisconsin.
Another custom feature inside the flip top is a removable poker chip. Positioned atop the ring's interior, the bonus piece features Denver's championship logo on one side along with the numbers 13-11-2—the Pioneers' record through Jan. 23 before going on a 16-0-1 to finish the season—and 29-11-2—the team's final record of the year—to honor its perseverance and the fourth-longest unbeaten streak in program history. The reverse side of the poker chip is a nod to Las Vegas with the city's skyline, while a pair of aces rest just below. The pocket aces pair two ones together to symbolically celebrate DU's 11th national title while also representing a single ace's value of 11.
Pioneer pride and significant meanings to the 2025-26 squad are featured on both sides of the ring. Red and white stones border the outer edges of the ring top, with the 11 red stones collectively honoring all of the program's national titles. The left side includes personal details with the last name and number or position of the recipient. Above the individual details is the team's rallying cry from the playoff run, "Personal," while a hockey stick lines the right side that features 17 stones on the shaft, with each stone representing one of the 17 goals scored by the Pioneers in the NCAA Tournament. The blade of the stick boasts the motto "All In."
The right side has the championship year, "2026," on top of a depiction of the team triumphantly holding the NCAA trophy in the postgame celebration. Above the year and celebration portrayal are the words "The Standard," a phrase made famous about the Denver hockey program by ESPN college hockey broadcaster John Buccigross at the conclusion of the team's win against then-defending national champion Western Michigan in the NCAA West Regional Final on March 29 in Loveland, Colorado. An additional custom accent features a distinct playing card suit pattern that flows across the background on both sides of the ring as a tribute to Las Vegas.
