DENVER – The University of Denver men's basketball program has finalized its 2026-27 non-conference schedule that is highlighted by home dates with Wyoming on November 14 and Rice on December 19, second-year head coach Tim Bergstraser announced on Tuesday.
Last week, the West Coast Conference announced the weekly schedule for conference action in 2027 (READ FULL RELEASE HERE).
Denver will open its inaugural season in the West Coast Conference on November 2 when the Pioneers make the trip to Madison to take on Wisconsin. The Pioneers will then make their first of several trips to California this year to take on UC Riverside on Saturday, November 7.
The Pioneers will have a full week of practice before their home opener on November 14 when Denver welcomes Wyoming to the Mile High City for the first time since December, 2019. A couple of days later, Denver will step out of its Division I schedule to host UCCS as part of a women's and men's double header in Hamilton Gymnasium on November 16.
DU then begins a stretch of nine-straight games on the road to end November and begin December. The swing starts with a trip to Eastern Michigan on November 21 before the Pioneers head to Allen Fieldhouse on November 23 to take on Kansas. Denver will return home briefly before heading to Denver International Airport again to travel to New Mexico State on November 28.
The Crimson and Gold open December in the Centennial State with a trip down I-25 to take on Air Force, the first meeting between the two programs in five years.
With students well past final exams for the fall quarter, Denver will take part in four games in seven days stretch that starts with a trip to SIUE on Saturday, December 5. Denver will then head to Kansas City for a two-day MTE, drawing dates against former Summit League foe Kansas City on December 8 and Sam Houston State on December 9. The compact schedule wraps-up with a trip to UTSA on December 11.
Denver's nine-game road swing concludes with a trip to Utah Tech on December 14 before the Pioneers return home for the first time in exactly a month to take on Colorado Christian on December 16. DU's second marquee home game of the non-conference slate sees the Pioneers host Rice in Hamilton Gymnasium on December 19 before a 10-day holiday break.
DU will return from the holidays by making a trip to Colorado on December 29 before starting West Coast Conference play in January.
