2016-17:
Appeared in all 44 of Denver's games during NCAA Championship campaign… Tallied 3G-6A-9P-49PIM and a +20 rating… Blocked season-high four shots on Oct. 15 vs. BU and Jan. 20 at SCS... Finished third on the Pioneers with 54 BKS on the season... Registered career-high three points (1G-2A) in NCAA Semifinal victory over Notre Dame on Apr. 6.

2015-16:
Winner of the Murray Armstrong Award as Denver's  most improved player... Recorded first career NCAA assist on Oct. 9 at Air Force... Blocked career-high four shots on Feb. 12 vs. North Dakota... Tallied assists in back-to-back games on Nov. 21 at Wisconsin and Dec. 4 at North Dakota.

2014-15:
Appeared in 10 games during freshman season at DU, recording 1G-0A-1P-2PIM and a +2 rating… Made NCAA debut on Oct. 18 vs. RPI… Scored first career collegiate goal on Feb. 14 at North Dakota… Blocked season-high two shots on Mar. 21 vs. UND in NCHC Frozen Faceoff Consolation Final.

Before Denver:
Played three seasons with the Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), 18G-52A-70P in 156 career regular season games and 2G-6A-8P in 24 postseason contests… Named an AJHL South Division First Team All-Star and W.G. Scott Memorial Trophy finalist (top defenseman, AJHL) in 2013-14; also served as Oilers’ team captain and finished fifth in the AJHL defensive scoring race with 11G-28A-39P (60GP).

Personal:
Chose to play at Denver because of the city, outstanding tradition of its hockey program and strong academic reputation… Favorite NHL player is Mark Giordano because he “…made it to the NHL to hard way. Nothing was handed to him and he’s had to work for everything in his career so far. He’s humble, a tremendous leader, and has earned the respect of his team and the entire city of Calgary”… Favorite pro sports team: Calgary Flames… Favorite movie: Slap Shot… Favorite TV show: Entourage… Favorite video game: FIFA (EA Sports)… Favorite book: American Sniper by Chris Kyle… Enjoys golfing and boating in his spare time… Has volunteered with the Alberta Minor Hockey Association, Rotary Club of Calgary and the Investors Group Charity Breakfast… Career goal is to play hockey for as long as he can and then take over his father’s financial planning business... The son of Jon and Kim Hammond… Has one sibling (J.R., 23)… Jon Hammond won the Memorial Cup (Canadian Hockey League championship trophy) with Regina in 1974 and played briefly for Fort Wayne of the International Hockey League in 1976-77 after being selected by New England in Round 10 (108th Overall) of the 1976 WHA Amateur Draft.
