2017-18 Internationals:Â
Took the gold medal in the 100 free at the 2018 Canadian Nationals with a 50.10…Also finished fourth in the 50 fly (24.28), ninth in the 200 free (1:54.24) and sixth in the 50 free (23.30)...Finished ninth in the 100 free (51.36), 12th in the 100 fly (56.01), fifth in the 50 free (23.30).Â
2017-18:Â
Part of the first All-America relay in program history, finishing 15th in the prelims of the 200 free relay with a school-record 1:17.43…The quartet broke the school record again in the 200 free relay finals at the NCAA Championships, finishing 14th with a 1:17.22… Part of the relay that broke the school record in the 400 free at the national meet, combining for a 2:52.44, cutting 0.08 seconds off the previous best time set earlier in 2017-18…Earned NCAA B Standards in the 50 free (20.00), 100 free (42.94), 200 free (1:35.20-aa), 100 fly (47.75), 200 free relay (1:17.61) and 400 free relay (2:52.52)… Broke the El Pomar Natatorium record in the 200 free with a 1:38.58 on January 20…Won the 50 free and the 100 free once, won the 200 free on seven occasions, took first place once for the 100 backstroke event, won the 100 butterfly twice, took first for the 200 free relay five times, won the 400 free relay four times, took first for the 800 free relay once, won the 200 medley relay twice, and won the 400 medley relay once.Â

Four-time member of the Canadian Junior National Team… Holds 18 provincial records in Canada… Represented Canada at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships and Junior World Championships.

Born September 9, 1998 in Grand Prairie, Alberta… Son of Brian and Esmie Calkins… Has one brother, Nathan and one sister, Natasha. Chose the University of Denver because he liked the training environment and connected with the team…Enjoys photography.
