Took first in the 500 free, reaching the wall in 4:19.86 at the CSCAA Invitational…Won the 1650 free at the CSCAA Invitational with a meet record 15:06.28…Earned NCAA B Standards in the 200 free (1:35.92), 500 free (4:16.32), 1650 free (15:13.22)…Won the 200 free once, took first place for the 500 free on nine occasions, won the 1000 free twice, won the 1650 free twice, came in first for the 100 butterfly once and won the 800 free relay once. Before Denver:
Colin Gilbert is a swimmer from Westsyde Secondary School in Kamloops, B.C...He has been a member of Kamloops Classic Swimming for seven years (2009-2016) and was named the Kamloops Male Athlete of the Year in 2014...Seven-time age group National Champion and won a silver medal in the 800 free at the 2015 Canadian Summer Championships...Won two bronze medals for Canada at the 2015 Australian Age Championships in Sydney, and was recently named to the Canadian roster for the 2016 Junior Pan Pacific Championships this summer in Maui, Hawaii.
Personal:
Colin is the son of Mark and Katti Gilbert...One younger sister, Tatiana (21)...Outside of swimming, his hobbies include barbecuing, hiking, art shows, biking and music...He also volunteers at local Kamloops Classic Swimming competitions.
