WAYS TO SUPPORT DENVER NIL
The NIL STORE prioritizes student-athletes' success by providing a platform to amplify their brand and connect with fans through officially licensed NIL merchandise. Fans can shop with confidence, knowing they're supporting their favorite student-athletes while receiving top-quality product.
POLICIES & RULES
Per the House Settlement, student-athletes must:
- Report NIL Activity at least 72 hours prior to any agreement being signed or entered
- Disclose term of agreement, compensation amounts or value of any products to be received
- Provide parties of the agreement
- List services to be provided
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The new NIL rules allow student-athletes to engage in brand-focused activities, such as:
- Promoting brands on social media
- Third-party media endorsements
- Personal appearances
- Autographs
Every NIL contract will be reviewed prior to acceptance to assure engagements do not violate NCAA rules, state law, and University of Denver NIL protocols.
- Social E-Commerce Companies
- Clothing and Apparel Companies
- Food and Beverages
- Restaurants

A Student-Athlete's NIL Deal CANNOT
- Partner with a company that conflicts with a University of Denver exclusive agreement.
- Partner with a competitor of Under Armour, including Nike, Converse, adidas, Reebok, Russell, New Balance, Puma, Oakley and Lululemon.
- Partner with a direct competitor of Pepsi, Huntington Bank, Toyota, Canvas Credit Union, Common Spirit and Panorama.
- Conflict with NCAA, state of Colorado or University rules, regulations and legislation, thus jeopardizing a student-athlete's eligibility.
Yes - Student-athletes are permitted to sign with a marketing firm, attorney or agent to assist them in NIL opportunities. The representation can only assist in NIL opportunities and cannot negotiate anything in relation to athletic participation or competition.
International student-athletes should consult with an immigration attorney prior to engaging in any NIL agreements.
Student-athletes are responsible for all taxes and IRS payments as a result of NIL agreements. The University of Denver provides education surrounding NIL compensation tax responsibilities for student-athletes, but ultimately the student-athlete is responsible for meeting their obligations.
