2020-21 (SENIOR)
Appeared in 17 games, started in three … logged 12.6 minutes per game … averaged 5.1 points … 1.5 rebounds … shot 63.6 percent from the field … 69.6 percent from the foul line … recorded four games in double figures … had a season-high 12 points at Wyoming on Dec. 9 … grabbed a season-most five rebounds against Northern Colorado on Dec. 16.
2019-20 (JUNIOR AT COLORADO): Appeared in four games, playing just under five total minutes on the season. Scored his only points of the season on a field goal against Prairie View A&M (12/19). Made his Colorado debut in the final seconds of the home opener against San Diego (11/16), where he grabbed his first of four rebounds on the season. Two of those rebounds he would corral, came in the win over Iona (12/29). Following the season he entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.
2018-19 (SOPHOMORE AT COLORADO): Enrolled at Colorado for the 2018 fall semester and joined the men’s basketball team as a walk-on. Sat out the 2018-19 season due to NCAA transfer rules. Officially has two years of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2019-20 season, but would be eligible to apply for a medical hardship waiver, returning a third year.
2016-18 (AT SAN DIEGO): Appeared in 25 games as a true freshman in 2016-17, averaging 4.1 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. He shot 47.5 percent from the field (38-80) and 73 percent from the free throw line. Ryder scored double-digits in three games, including a season-high 16 points in USD’s home win over UC Santa Barbara. He did not play basketball in 2017-18 due to medical concerns, although he remained as a student at USD for the fall semester before returning home to Colorado.
High School: A 2016 graduate of Fairview High School, Ryder averaged 21.0 points and 7.8 rebounds for the Knights as a senior. He returned to Fairview after playing his sophomore and junior seasons at IMG Academy in Florida. Ryder averaged 15.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks as a sophomore. His junior season was cut short due to an illness and he transferred back to Colorado. Ryder played for the Colorado Titans club team, averaging 17.0 points and 12.0 rebounds while shooting 64 percent.
Academics: Was an economics major while at Colorado. Named to the 2019-20 Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll. One of two recipients of the 2019-20 Clancy A. Herbst, Jr., Student-Athlete Achievement Award presented to CU student-athletes who overcome personal, academic or emotional challenges difficulties to succeed both academically and athletically.
Personal: Born Frank Peter Ryder on Sept. 10, 1997, in Boulder. He is the son of Doug and Stephana Ryder, and has one sister, Georgina. He aspires to have a career in professional basketball. His favorite team is the Los Angeles Lakers and his favorite player is LeBron James.
