HONORS AND AWARDS:
Summit League All-Academic Team (2023, 24)...All-Summit League Honorable Mention (2023-24).

CAREER:
44th Pioneer overall and 17th in the modern DU DI era to reach 1000 career points…Reached the milestone in 90 games, the 10th fastest Pioneer in the DI era to reach that milestone…In Denver’s DI record book, 14th in career scoring at 1094 points and third in rebounds at 630.
 
2023-24 (JUNIOR):
Played and started in all 34 games for the Pioneers…Averaged 15.2 points and 7.7 rebounds in 29.5 minutes per game…Also added 19 assists, 15 steals and 22 blocks…Shot 46.7% from the field…Finished in double figures 24 times to bring his career total to 53…Finished with 20+ points in 11 different contests…Finished with double digit rebounds eight times to bring his career total to 19..Career-high in points (31) and rebounds (18) in Denver’s season-opener on November 6, tied for the third-most rebounds in a DI game in the Pioneers history…Scored 21 in Denver’s first win in 12 tries against North Dakota State…Two of the top eight rebounding performances in the program’s Division I history (20 vs. Oral Roberts, 18 at UC San Diego)…Sixth in single season scoring in Denver’s DI history with 517…Sixth in Denver’s DI history with 118 free-throws in the season…Sixth in free-throws attempted at 162…Third in Denver’s DI history in single-season rebounds with 262…NCAA Statistical Rankings: 98th in the country in double-doubles (8) and 91st in rebounds (262).

2022-23 (SOPHOMORE)
Appeared in 32 games, started in 25 … Named to the Summit League All-Academic Team … logged 27.9 minutes per game … Averaged 10.6 points … grabbed 6.4 rebounds … shot 52.4 percent form the field … 41.7 percent from 3 … 69.2 percent from the foul line … recorded three double-doubles … notched 18 games scoring in double figures … had seven games with at least 10 rebounds … was the leading scorer in six games … had a team-high 14 games as the leading rebounder … scored a season-most 22 points in the win against Kansas City on Dec. 29 … ripped down a season-high 14 rebounds against St. Thomas on Feb. 4 … made a season-high two 3s on three occasions … swiped a season-best two steals three times.

2021-22 (FRESHMAN)
Appeared in all 32 games, started in 23 … logged 22.7 minutes per game … averaged 7.4 points per game … grabbed 5.1 rebounds, highest on the team … shot 57.8 percent from the field … 35.3 percent from beyond the arc … recorded three double-doubles, most by a Pioneer since Ade Murkey (4) in 2019-20 and most by a DU freshman since Royce O’Neale back in 2011-12 … became first Pioneer to have a 15-point, 15-rebound game since Daniel Amigo (24 points, 16 rebounds) back on Nov. 25, 2017 … scored a season-high 21 points against Western Illinois on Dec. 20 … had a season-best 15 rebounds against Kansas City on Jan. 27 … sent back a season-most two blocks four times … recorded 11 games in double figures for scoring … totaled four double-digit rebounding games … drilled a season-high two 3s on two occasions … attempted a season-most eight free throws at St. Thomas on Feb. 24 … had four games this year shooting perfect from the field.

BEFORE DENVER
Played at the DME Academy in Daytona, Fla. last year, where he averaged a double-double with averages of 17.0 points and 10.0 rebounds. Tainamo also is a member of the Finland National Team, playing for the U18 squad at the FIBA U18 European Championship in 2019, where he averaged 8.3 points and 5.7 rebounds. 

PERSONAL
Son of Kirsi Tainamo and Pekka Ruuskanen ... chose DU because he liked the coaching staff and the playing style ... named captain of the U20 Finnish national team for the summer 2021 ... planning on majoring in Mathematics.
