Biography
2013-14:
- Received NCHC Academic All-Conference recognition for having a cumulative GPA above 3.0.
- Named as tri-captain for the 2013-14 season.
- Helped DU win the inaugural NCHC Championship and appear in the NCAA Tournament.
- Recorded three points in six games of the postseason on two goals and one assist.
- Played in 34 games for the Pioneers.
- Tallied 20 points on 10 goals and 10 assists.
- Had a career-high three assists on February 28 against Western Michigan.
- Tied for fifth on the team in +/- rating with +5.
- Had a .588 point-per-game percentage.
- Committed 16 penalties for 43 PIM.
2012-13:
- Appeared in 36 games.
- Compiled 21 points on 12 goals and nine assists.
- Began the season with four points in four games.
- Had a four game point streak lasting from January 5th until January 18th, and a three game point streak between March 8th until March 15th.
- Notched four multi-point games including a three point outing against Nebraska Omaha (1/11).
- Assisted the University of Denver Men[apos]s Hockey program in the acceptance of the Ally Award for promoting the respect for LGBT athletes.
- Volunteered with the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
2011-12:
- Played 26 games.
- Recorded five points on one goal and four assists.
- Scored his first collegiate goal, the game-winner, in 4-3 double-overtime win over Minnesota Duluth (3/16) in the WCHA Final Five semifinals.
- Contributed 103 hits and six blocked shots.
- Committed six penalties for 12 PIMs.
- Selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the seventh round (196th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
BEFORE DENVER:
- Played for the United States National Team Development Program (USNTDP) in Ann Arbor, Mich. from 2009-11.
- Tallied 18 points on nine goals and nine assists in 57 games for the U.S. National Under-18 Team in 2010-11.
- Added three game-winning goals, one shorthanded goal and 26 PIMs.
- Helped Team USA to gold medals at the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation World Men[apos]s Under-18 Championship in Crimmitschau, Germany and Under-18 Five Nations Tournament in Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic.
- Registered 17 points (8g, 9a) for the U.S. National Under-17 Team in 2009-10.
- Recorded 58 PIMs and tallied seven points (2g, 5a) in 14 games against international foes.
- Part of the U.S. squad that earned first place at the 2010 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Timmins, Ont.
- Played in one game with the U.S. National Under-18 Team.
- Tallied 23 points on 11 goals and 12 assists in 26 games for P.F. Changs (Ariz.) in 2008-09.

- Son of Alan and Julie.
- Has one brother, Alex (16), and one sister, Jaysen (15).
- Has one stepbrother, Carter Burke (16), and one stepsister, Hayden Burke (14), and has one half-brother, Parker Larraza (7).
- Graduated from Pioneer High School (Ann Arbor, Mich.) in 2011.
- Chose Denver for the city and how the coaching staff develops players for the next level.
- Career goals are to earn a degree and become a professional athlete.
- Enjoys fishing and playing all sports.
- Helps run a youth hockey camp each summer in Scottsdale, Ariz.
- Played eight years of baseball as a pitcher and three years of football as a wide receiver.
- Tthrew 85 miles per hour as an eighth grader.
- Favorite athletes are Kevin Durant and Pavel Datsyuk.
