Biography

2016-17: Won the Bob Martin Award for Community Service at DU Hockey Awards Banquet on May 8... Skated in two games (Jan. 6 vs. ASU & Mar. 18 vs. WMU) as a redshirt junior, firing one SOG and winning one faceoff... One of Denver's 16 Academic All-Conference Team members. 2015-16: Co-Winner (with Evan Ritt) of the Pioneers' Bob Martin Award for Community Service... Registered first career point (assist) on Oct. 9 at Air Force... Appeared in two regular season games and one playoff game (NCHC Consolation Final, Mar. 19 vs UND)... Named to 2015-16 NCHC Academic All-Conference Team on Feb. 17. 2014-15: Appeared in four games with Denver, registering a blocked shot and one shot on goal... Won season-high three faceoffs on Oct. 18 vs. RPI. 2013-14: Received NCHC Academic All-Conference recognition for having a cumulative GPA above 3.0... Played two games of the season before being sidelined by a shoulder injury. Before Denver: Was a member of the Colorado Thunderbirds (U-16), along 2016 graduate Quentin Shore (Denver, Colo.) and 2015 graduate Josiah Didier (Littleton, Colo.), which became the first triple-A team from the state of Colorado to win a Tier 1 National Championship in 2010... Was coached by former DU hockey player Angelo Ricci while with the Thunderbirds... Attended USA Hockey's National Player Development Camp on three occasions... Took part in the Final 40 camp for Team USA... Won a pair of bronze medals at the Tier 1 AAA National Championship as a member of the Colorado Thunderbirds U14 and U18 teams in 2009 and 2011. Personal: The son of Chris and Linda... Has one brother, Brian... Attended Lincoln Southeast (Neb.) High School... Chose Denver because of its top-notch hockey program, quality international relations program and proximity to home... Was always a goal/dream to attend DU since he was a youngster... Career goal is to graduate from DU and have a career in Government Intelligence or National Defense... Spent time speaking to middle schools in Lincoln, Neb., area about the importance of balancing education and athletics... Hobbies are playing golf and traveling... Favorite athletes are Peyton Manning and Robert Griffin III... International Studies major.
