Steven Reinprecht was named volunteer assistant coach on June 8, 2018, joining the Pioneers following an 18-year professional playing career.

Reinprecht played 11 years in the NHL and part of seven (7) in the DEL, the top German professional league. The Edmonton, Alberta native brings a championship pedigree to Denver, having won a Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche in 2001 and a gold medal with Canada at the 2003 IIHF World Championship.

Reinprecht began his playing career as a center at the University of Wisconsin where he tallied 162 points (72-90-162) in 154 games. During the 1999-2000 season, Reinprecht was recognized as Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Player of the Year as well as American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) First-Team All-American.

Following his time at Wisconsin, Reinprecht signed with the Los Angeles Kings to begin his 18-year professional career. In 11 NHL seasons, Reinprecht played for five (5) different teams and finished with 382 points (140-242-382) in 663 games. He notched 104 points (40-64-104) in 165 games with the Colorado Avalanche from 2000-2003. Internationally, Reinprecht registered 303 points (105-198-303) through 278 games in the DEL, leading the league with 67 points during the 2014-2015 season. He played six-consecutive years for the Nurnberg Ice Tigers prior to his retirement in April 2018.
