Denver[apos]s automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament in 2014 marked the first time the Pioneers played in the NCAA[apos]s in consecutive seasons. It was also DU[apos]s fifth appearance in school history. In addition, the Pioneers went undefeated at CIBER Field and, over the course of the past two seasons, have fashioned a 17-game winning streak at home.

In 2014, Muuss guided the Pioneers to another double-digit win total, 11, and saw seven players pick up post-season honors. Jordan Schweitzer was named First Team All Summit League. Reagan Dunk, Kortne Ford, Brian Hoyt, Kosta Kordistos and Eric Kronenberg were named Second Team All Summit League while Ford and Cole Stevenson were named to the all-newcomer team.

In addition, Taylor Hunter (MVP), Sam Hamilton, Teddy Mullin and Kordistos were each named to the Summit League All-Tournament team.

The historic season placed nine Pioneers on The Summit League All-Conference Team, with eight-of-nine players being named to the First Team. Muuss took the top coaching honor while Zach Bolden, Theodor Remman and Oliver Brown were honored with Offensive, Defensive, and Goalkeeper of the Year Awards, respectively.

The Pioneers earned their fifth-straight NSCAA Team Academic Award under Muuss in 2013. Senior Blair Jeralds became the fourth Pioneer to earn Capital One Academic All-America honors and the second athlete to do so under Muuss.

Muuss had his fourth player drafted in the last five seasons in 2012, as senior Drew Beckie was selected with the 28th overall pick by the Columbus Crew. Beckie was also named to the Second Team All-West Region. In his sixth season, Muuss got five players on the All-MPSF lists.

Three Pioneers were named All-MPSF in the 2011 season, including Beckie who earned first team honors, and represented Canada in CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying. In the classroom, 11 Pioneers earned Academic All-MPSF honors. Denver[apos]s 2012 incoming freshmen class included three players in the College Soccer News top 80 recruits.

Senior Kyle Christensen was named the MPSF Player of the Year and freshman Sam Garza was chosen as MPSF Newcomer of the Year, while Muuss picked up his second-straight MPSF Coach of the Year award.

Muuss came to DU after serving six seasons as the top assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Wake Forest University.

At Wake Forest, Muuss worked extensively with the goalkeepers and helped the Demon Deacons to NCAA Tournament appearances in each of the his six seasons, including twice as the nation[apos]s top-ranked team. In 2006, Wake Forest won a school-record 18 games and advanced to its first College Cup final four as a No. 2 seed after winning the ACC regular-season title for the third time in five years.

During his final three years at Wake Forest, Muuss worked closely with Deacons goalie Brian Edwards, who set school records with 13 shutouts in 2006 and 31 in his career. Additionally, Muuss[apos] recruiting prowess helped Wake Forest land top-20 recruiting classes in each of the six years he worked with the program, according to College Soccer News.

Before Wake Forest, Muuss served a four-year stint as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Connecticut. During that time, the Huskies won the 2000 National Championship, three BIG EAST regular-season titles and made two appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
