The University of Denver men’s soccer program has added Zander Deitz to its staff as the program’s volunteer assistant coach, second-year head coach Jamie Franks announced on Friday.

“We are very excited to add Zander to the Denver men’s soccer staff,” Franks said. “We believe his skill set compliments the rest of the staff well and that he will play an important role for this upcoming season. Being a Colorado kid himself, Zander takes immense pride in giving back to the community. Zander’s hard working, resilient approach proved successful as a student-athlete at UNC-C and will provide the platform for him to connect to our players here at DU. Adding Zander to the leadership team further advances the culture of excellence. Zander is extremely process-orientated and we look forward to watching him make an immediate impact to our mission-driven culture.”

Deitz is the current Director of Coaching for the Boys Development Colorado Storm South, while also serving as the 03 Boys Colorado Olympic Development Program coach. Prior to that role, Deitz was a U11-U14 girls age group coordinator for Colorado Storm FC (2014-16), an academy director for FC Caroline Alliance (2012-14) and a staff coach for San Antonio United (2011-12).

The newest member of Denver’s staff played his youth soccer in Colorado as a member of the Region 4 ODP team (2003-07) and as a captain for the Colorado State ODP Team (2003-07). Following six seasons of playing his club soccer for the Colorado Rush, Deitz spent three seasons playing at UNC-Charlotte before transferring to Incarnate Word in 2011 after earning his business marketing degree at UNC-Charlotte.
