University of Denver Athletics

Maguire was hired as an assistant coach in August 2015. The former Pioneer swimmer (2009-13) was a team captain during his time at DU, as well as a four year letterman. He graduated from the university in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in environmental science. Maguire will enter his 11th season with the program in 2025-26, his seventh as now the associate head coach under Alicia Hicken-Franklin. 

Maguire focuses his time with the breaststrokers, IMRs and sprinting events. 

The Denver native also spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the University of Denver Hilltoppers from 2015-17. The Hilltoppers (TOPS) Swim Team is a year-round aquatics program that gives youth the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of swimming technique and training to help develop specific age group swimmers. Maguire led the Crimson and Silver groups which consisted of 30 young kids representing the club at local, regional and national meets.
