2017-18 All-Summit League honoree in the 200 back...2016-17 All-Summit League Performer in the 100 back and 200 back.


2017-18:
Earned an NCAA B Standard in the 200 back (1:45.97)…Swam the fifth-fastest time for DU in the 100 backstroke at 48.84 at the Tennessee invite… Turned in the third-fastest DU time this season in the 200 backstroke at 1.45.97 at the Tennessee invite. 



2016-17 Internationals:
Finished 12th in the 200 back (2:12.63), eighth in the 50 back (27.66) and eighth in the 100 back (58.95) at the Mel Zajac International…Finished 77th out of 185 in the 100 back prelims at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials (56.77).

2016-17:
Participated in 13 meets…Sixth-best Denver time in the 500 free with a 4:28.30 at the Summit League Championships….Third-best Denver time in the 100 back, touching in 48.40 at the Texas Invitational (12/1)…Clocked in the second-best Denver time in the 200 back, finishing the Summit League Championships at 1:43.83.

2015-16:
Helped team win 17 of 20 events at the 2016 Summit League Championships…Helped set eight Summit League Championship records…Named to the 2016 Summit All-League Team.

2014-15:
Achieved NCAA Standard in 200 back...Turned in the sixth-fastest time for the Pioneers in the 200 free with a 1:39.37.

Before Denver:
Ten years of high school and club…Four years of club gymnastics.

Personal:
Born on November 11, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada…Son of Kevin and Susan Smith...Has three siblings, Josh (24), Jeremy (23), Jessie (15)…Chose DU because when he came on his recruiting trip to the University of Denver, he loved it. It is a great school academically and he is excited to swim on the swim team. The swim team has a family aspect to it that he did not feel on any other school visits…Career goal is to make it to NCAA’s and place in the top 8 by his senior year…Hobbies/Extra-curricular activities: hanging out with friends…Participated in community service clubs in high school…Scholastic All American…Majoring in construction management.
