    Men's Tennis Volunteer Assistant Coach
The University of Denver men's tennis program welcomed Mads Hegelund in August of 2014 as its volunteer assistant coach.

At New Mexico, Hegelund posted an overall singles record 16-9 in his senior and final year with the Lobos. Playing primarily in the No. 6 singles position, Hegelund finished the regular season with a 12-5 record and a 4-4 singles record for the fall tournament season. Hegelund was named to the 2014 Capital One/Co-SIDA Academic All-District VII At-Large team, named to the 2014 MW Academic All-Conference team, and named a 2014 MW Scholar-Athlete. Hegelund was also named a 2014 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athlete.

Of his new opportunity, Hegelund said, "I am very excited to be a part of the men's tennis team here at the University of Denver. Danny and Drew have a great tennis program that I have always respected. To be a part of the great coaching staff while earning my master's degree in Sports & Performance Psychology is a tremendous opportunity for me. I am excited to get started."
