Why DU: “I chose the University of Denver because the combination of a welcoming school culture and strong academics. The supportive and elite training environment placed DU above and beyond other institutions. I know I will be supported in chasing my goals at the University of Denver, and I couldn’t see myself anywhere else.”

Why Triathlon: “There are so many aspects of triathlon that have caused me to fall in love with the sport. From the diverse, multi-sport training to the supportive community in which I have met so many amazing people, triathlon is my home.”

Coach Barbara Perkins’ Take: “She comes from both a very strong swimming and running background. She exploded on the triathlon scene during the COVID years and has already seen a lot of success in the short period of time she’s been a triathlete. She qualified for the Canadian Summer Games this past summer, which is a prestigious honor, and she was named the Female Junior Triathlete of the Year by TriOntario. Not only is she an outstanding athlete, but she’s very driven in the classroom and has huge goals for herself in her future career. Alex fit in immediately with our team and is exactly the type of athlete I’m looking for to join us and help take us to the next level. I can’t wait to see what she does at Denver and beyond.”
