University of Denver women’s basketball assistant coach Marquelle Dent enters her third season with the program in 2024-25, after being named to Doshia Woods staff in May of 2022.
2024-25:
Denver finished the 2024-25 campaign in ninth place in the Summit League. In her third season, Dent coached two all-conference selections in Jordan Jones and Laia Monclova.
2023-24:
The Pioneers concluded the 2023-24 campaign in seventh place in the Summit League with an upset win over Oral Roberts in Hamilton Gymnasium. In her second season, Dent coached two all-conference selections in Jordan Jones and Emma Smith.
2022-23:
In her first season, Dent helped lead the Pioneers to a fifth-place finish in Summit League play, up three spots from the 2021-22 campaign.
Dent focused with associate head coach Lindsay Werntz on the Pioneers offense in her first season with the program, helping the Pioneers to finishing seventh in the country in three-point attempts per game (27.5) and 18th in three-pointers made per game (8.4).
Prior to coming to Denver, Dent spent the 2021-22 season at Northern Colorado, helping the Bears to a run to the Big Sky Semifinals after a 15-16 record, including a 9-11 mark in the Big Sky.
In the seasons before her time in Greely, Dent spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Regis University. Additionally, Dent has high school coaching experience at Cheyenne Central High School in Wyoming and with the Laramie County Golden Eagles program.
A 2015 WBCA Honorable Mention All-America selection in her playing career at Wyoming, Dent was a two-time All-Mountain West First Team pick and a two-time member of the conference’s All-Defensive Team. Dent became the first player in Wyoming’s program history to finish her career with at least 1,000 (1,337) points, 500 (514) assists and 175 (181) steals.
Dent played one season professionally in Portugal after graduating from Wyoming with a degree in Communications in 2016.
