Sarah Miles enters her third season as the program's recruiting coordinator and her fourth as an assistant coach for the Pioneers in 2024-25.

2021-22:
Miles focused her efforts with Coach Woods on the defensive side of the ball in her first season with the program, a defense that finished 12th in the country in blocked shots per game, sending back 5.2 shots per game.

2022-23:
After being elevated to the program’s recruiting coordinator in the offseason, Miles helped head coach Doshia Woods with the Denver defense, turning up the heat in contesting shots, finishing 40th in the country in blocked shots at 4.3 per game.

Miles coached Summit League Defensive Player of the Year Makayla Minett to the ninth-best blocks mark in the country and earned Denver’s first player of the year not restricted by eligibility season since Misa Pavlickova was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year in 2001.

As a team, the Pioneers finished fifth in the Summit League regular season standings, three places higher than the year prior.

2023-24:
The Pioneers concluded the 2023-24 campaign in seventh place in the Summit League with an upset win over Oral Roberts in Hamilton Gymnasium. Miles coached two all-conference selections in Jordan Jones and Emma Smith. Smith led the Summit League in 2023-24 in steals per game and Angelina Robles led the conference in assist/turnover ratio.

2024-25:
Denver finished the 2024-25 campaign in ninth place in the Summit League. The Pioneers allowed 60.7 points per game during nonconference play under Miles’ defense. Miles coached two all-conference selections in Jordan Jones and Laia Monclova.

Before Denver:
Prior to joining Woods' staff, Miles held an assistant coaching position in 2020-21 at Central Michigan. Miles has previously served as an assistant coach at Northwestern State (La.) (2019-20) and Colorado State Pueblo (2017-19).

From 2016-17, Miles was a graduate assistant at her alma mater, West Virginia, helping the Mountaineers to win the Big 12 Tournament championship. She also worked as an instructor at High Octane Performance Skills in San Antonio, Texas in 2014, where she developed athletes who would go on to play at Duke and Texas Tech.

Miles was a four-year player on the women’s basketball team at WVU, earning the Big East Most Improved Player Award (2008-09) and Big East Defensive Player of the Year honors (2009-10). She was also named to the All-Big East Tournament Team and Second Team All-Big East as a junior, leading the Mountaineers to a 29-6 record.

Miles also played professionally for a season for Forssa Finland, receiving All-Finnish League Honorable Mention recognition while helping her team reach the league semifinals.

Through her work in the classroom, Miles holds a bachelor's degree in multidisciplinary studies, with a focus in entrepreneurship, public relations and communications from West Virginia University and is working toward a master's degree in athletic coaching education.
