Terra Moyers

Terra Moyers enters her second season in 2018-19 at the University of Denver  as an assistant coach for women’s basketball. 

During her first season with the Pioneers, the squad went 16-14 and 7-7 in the Summit League, taking the No. 4 seed into the Summit League tournament. 

Denver averaged 70.6 points per game and averaged 8.5 3s made per game. The squad also averaged 40.9 rebounds per game and helped set an NCAA record for made 3s per game (36) with Western Illinois on Jan. 24.

The Crimson and Gold led the Summit in rebounds per game and finished 46th in the NCAA. The team also finished second in rebounds (1,226), third in rebound margin (3.7), turnovers forced (15.9), and steals per game (7.5). Denver's 8.5 3s per game finished 27th in the nation.

DU's Claire Gritt was named the Summit League Freshman of the Year, All-Newcomer Team and Honorable Mention. Meanwhile, Jordyn Alt was also named Summit League Honorable Mention.

Moyers joined DU from Colorado State University-Pueblo where she served as the assistant coach under Jim Turgeon for two seasons.

During her time with the Thunderwolves, Moyers assisted a coaching staff that led the Pack to an impressive 54-10 (.843) record from 2015-17, including a school record 28 wins in 2016-17. CSU-Pueblo qualified for the NCAA tournament for the sixth straight season in 2016-17 and won its first outright regular-season Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship since 1987-88. The Pack earned a No. 1 seed, the highest in program history, and hosted the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament in Moyers’ final season with the program.

Prior to her time with the Thunderwolves, Moyers coached under Turgeon at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Before her two-year stint at Iowa Western, Moyers served as an assistant coach at College of Saint Mary in Omaha, Neb.

As a student-athlete, Moyers started her career at Dixie State College in St. George, Utah, where she played basketball for two years. She transferred to College of Saint Mary in 2007 where she was a member of the basketball and softball teams. As a senior in 2010, she was named athlete of the year for College of Saint Mary and was an honorable-mention all-conference selection for basketball and an all-conference selection for softball in 2009 and 2010.

Moyers earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from College of Saint Mary in 2010 and her master’s degree in organizational management with an emphasis in sports management from Wayne State College in May of 2012.
