Jesse Medvene-Collins enters his second season with the Pioneers in 2020-21 after being named associate head coach of the women's tennis team on July 18, 2019. In his first season with Denver, Medvene-Collins had helped the Crimson & Gold to a 12-4 (1-0) start to the season and 4-3 upset against No. 25 South Carolina on Feb. 16 before the remainder of the season was canceled due to COVID-19

Prior to coming to Denver, Medvene-Colllins had served the previous season as an assistant coach for the Delaware men’s tennis team, helping the Blue Hens to a 14-14 mark. Prior to his stint at Delaware, Medvene-Collins spent six seasons as the associate head coach for the William & Mary women’s tennis team where he helped the Tribe to five Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) championships and was twice named ITA Atlantic Region Assistant Coach of the Year (2015, 2017). He coached four CAA Players of the Year, three CAA Rookies of the Year, 20 ITA Scholar-Athletes, 16 All-CAA singles players and eight All-CAA doubles pairs at William & Mary.

Medvene-Collins brought more than 10 years of collegiate tennis coaching experience to Denver after stops as an assistant at Dartmouth (2003-05), Wake Forest (2005-07), Redlands (2007-09) and Iowa (2010-2012). Prior to his time in Iowa City, Medvene-Collins served as head coach at Mills College. While at Iowa, Medvene-Collins helped assemble the No. 18 recruiting class in the nation. He has worked with student-athletes in the NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships at William & Mary and Wake Forest. As a player, he was a four-year letter winner at Redlands where he earned his bachelor's degree in 2002 before returning to earn his master's degree in higher education in 2009.
