DENVER (Jan. 26) - The University of Denver women's gymnastics team has climbed to its highest ranking in school history, as the Pioneers are 12th in the most recent GymInfo rankings released late Tuesday night. That ranking betters the previous high of No. 13, acheived last year before the NCAA Regional Championships.
In the individual rankings, junior Jenny Ebdon (Marietta, Ga.) has the fifth-best all-around score in the country with her 39.208 average, while sophomore Melanie Schiff (Highland Park, N.J.) is No. 7 in the nation on the uneven parallel bars (9.900). On the balance beam, Ebdon is 16th (9.825) and senior Dana Mims (Greenville, S.C.) is 19th (9.813).
The Pioneers' next home meet is this Sunday, Jan. 30, as Denver squares off against No. 15 Minnesota and No. 31 Arizona at Hamilton Gymnasium at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at the Ritchie Center box office or through TicketMaster by calling (303) 830-TIXS.
