DENVER -- The Denver Pioneers are set to play Texas for the second time in six days on Saturday, December 2 at 11 a.m., in Austin, Texas. The Pioneers returned home from the Cancun Tournament with a runner-up finish after losing to Texas by four points (78-74) in the championship game.
Denver advanced to the championship game by defeating Minnesota in the first round (77-59).
The Pioneers are led by senior forward Misa Pavlickova who has averaged 16.3 points in the first four outings. Pavlickova was a unanimous selection to the pre-season All-Sun Belt first team and has been called a legitimate All-America candidate by her coach. While the Pioneers have not played a game since the last meeting with Texas, the Longhorns defeated Sam Houston State at home on Wednesday (98-51).
